Hi Everyone!

picture of DJ smiling during his daily postingTuesday, Mama gave me a big surprise by coming home with a copy of the new Wall-E PC Game. After Dada installed it on my computer, I was able to play the game for the last few days. Here are my views on the latest game based on a great movie.

For the most part, Wall-E follows the plot of the movie, with Earth’s population having evacuated the planet due to overwhelming levels of trash. Left behind are a horde of Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class robots (or Wall-Es), who are tasked with collecting and cleaning the world from top to bottom so that one day, people can live on its surface once again. However, after hundreds of years, only one Wall-E robot remains carrying out its job as best it can until one day, a ship lands and deploys a robot named Eve, whose task is to search for life on Earth. As Wall-E falls in love with Eve, Eve discovers that he has found what she’s been looking for and takes off for space. Following his heart, Wall-E chases her and essentially discovers a life outside of his sheltered world. Dada will, now, help me with some of the details in the game:

Players control Wall-E for most of the game, moving the little robot through various environments solving puzzles and defeating enemies. While the odds may be against him, Wall-E has a number of ways to help him get past these obstacles. Wall-E can transform into a box and charge through objects and boxes. This move gives him a speed boost, which he can further translate into momentum during jumps. This is extremely useful because Wall-E will need to accelerate in half-pipe situations to cross certain gaps or leap up to new areas to collect energy charges. Charges are important because many security doors and areas are protected by doorways that require a certain number of vials before they unlock, so Wall-E will need to look for these in the environment. Many of them will be trapped in boxes, which can be broken apart by cubes that he automatically generates from trash that he rolls over.
Incidentally, these cubes can also be thrown into switches, objects or other targets. Wall-E also comes with a laser that he can use to cut through objects, which can only be recharged with laser energy vials.

Now, you do get a chance to play as Eve, Wall-E’s object of affection, but these moments are few and far between. At the end of each level, players receive points for completing stages, along with any mini-games that they might have unlocked by collecting artifacts or destroying all of the crates on a level. These points can be redeemed for bonus items, such as concept art or additional cheats that change the game. Not only does this provide motivation for players to return to previously completed levels, it gives them an incentive to fully explore every environment they go into.

Thanks Dada, for your help with my posting.

I am really having a great time playing this game. It is not really hard to play but it is not easy either. It takes time to work through the different levels and the time really flies when you are playing. One thing that I would suggest is to use a game controller instead of the computer keyboard. With the 360 degree field of vision, it just makes the playing experience a lot more exciting. This game is definitely a “keeper” as Dada says very often about different things.

I give the Wall-E PC Game four Golden Binkees.

Hi Everyone!

picture of DJ smiling during his daily postingYesterday, I was able to watch the new movie Wall-E.

The movie starts in the future, where humans have trashed Earth to the point it’s uninhabitable. With no means to sustain themselves - plants have all died or are buried under garbage and humans have fled in spaceships where they live their lives and  are serviced by robots.
Back on Earth, WALL-E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) goes about his daily, lonely job of compacting trash. It’s what he was built for and programmed to do, and there’s no reason for him to stop. He was inadvertently left turned on when everyone took off, so he goes about his work each and every day with only a cockroach named Hal as a friend. WALL-E has developed a personality over the hundreds of years alone. He collects items of trash that he then uses to furnish and decorate his home. He’s also developed an affection for the old movie  Hello, Dolly! and watches the old VHS tape over and over again.

picture of main character Wall-E the robot in the movie Wall-E

Hello, Dolly! has taught WALL-E about holding hands and falling in love, and the lonesome robot has dreams of finding that someone special. After endless years of waiting, WALL-E’s shot at love appears in the form of a glistening egg-shaped drone named EVE. EVE was sent to Earth to check for any signs of life, and WALL-E falls in love for this state-of-the-art metallic cutie. He wants nothing more than to make a connection with this beauty, but EVE’s not on the same wavelength. Fortunately, WALL-E does not give up and when EVE’s sent back to report her findings to the people on board the Axiom spaceship, WALL-E goes along for the ride. Nothing will Wall-E from being with his new love EVE, not hundreds of thousands of miles of space travel, evil robots, or people who’ve lost all concept of what life on Earth was like before their ancestors all but destroyed our planet.

There is the message being taught about protecting our environment and not being so reliant on technology to do our everyday things. What is really neat is there are very few spoken words as WALL-E relies on the movements of a trash compactor wearing binoculars to convey emotions and move forward the story.Within 5 minutes WALL-E is no longer a mere robot but a real creature who feels things as deeply as humans.

Wall-E is really a great movie that I know I will watch many times. It is a great movie for children of all ages right up to 90+ years old!

I give Wall-E  Five Golden Binkees.

Hi Everyone!

picture of DJ smiling during his daily postingJust a short post today.

Dada was watching his television program Click! this weekend. He found a great website that he wants to pass on to you all. It is called Disney Print Station. It provides all kinds of things to print from all the major Disney movie characters to include the newest movie character Wall-E.

There are many things to do that include making wall posters, door hangers, Disney character face masks, mobiles, photo frames, coloring sheets, and different types of activity sheets. This is a great website to go to for rainy day activities.

The website can be reached at: http://www.printstation.disney.co.uk

Have a wonderful time at this great child-safe website.

As always, thanks for your visit.
